Hello! My name is Justin Banks, and I am a senior majoring in Integrated Health Studies on the pre-med track. This is currently my third year working with AAAN, and I tutor mainly tutor chemistry, biology, and calculus. Outside of tutoring, I also volunteer at UI Health, conduct research in the UIC College of Medicine, and co-lead GlobeMed at UIC. Hi! My name is Michael Bello from the Southside of Chicago, IL. I graduated high school from the Illinois Mathematics & Science Academy and major in Biomedical Engineering on the pre-medicine track at UIC. My professional goal is to attend medical school, go into Internal Medicine, and be accepted into residency. I also want to delve further into cancer research post-baccalaureate. I am involved in the UIC NSBE chapter, BMES, Honors College, and AAAN. I am also a member of the DuSable Scholars Program which aims to build baccalaureate-to-PhD bridges among those of color in STEM. I also do pancreatic cancer research using transgenic mice models on UIC West campus. In my free time, I enjoy reading, cooking, working out, and graphic design. Overall, the community is important to me because I believes first-generation minority students deserve to have peer support networks that prioritize their academic excellence and achievement.
